Top Ten Books That I Read in 2014.

I have read over 100 books so far this year so to narrow it down to just ten is going to be tricky. Really I’m going to pick the first 10 amazing books that come to mind (Sorry!)phoenix holt

The Witches of the Glass Castle, Evanescent, How I Found You and Phoenix Holt by Gabriella Lepore.

All four are incredible reads, gripping from the first page until the last.  –  TWOGC sequel Uprising is released TODAY!!!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

This book, what can I say? Just…WOW. Karou is my perfect female character I completely devoured this book.cropped-fangirl.jpg

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

A book about a fangirl + a cute guy = perfect for the fangirl community! Rainbow Rowell was a real shining star of 2014 and I’m gutted that this was the only book of hers that I got around to reading. More Rainbow for me in 2015.

Love, Rosie (Where Rainbows End) by Cecelia Ahern.

This was my favourite contemporary chick-lit book of the year by far.

Top Ten Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read

(Whether because they think it’s a “you” book or it’s just been generally recommended so often)

From friends, family and the bookstagram community I get hundreds of book recommendations and I absolutely love it. Reading a book that has been recommended to you is so exciting as once I have finished I know that there is someone that I can go and talk to about it. I love discussing books so this is perfect for me. Here is a list of ten books that I have been recommended over and again but for one reason or another have yet to read. legend

The Legend trilogy by Marie Lu – these books have been recommended to me so many times and I am still yet to read them (sorry!) I haven’t even bought them. They do sound like something that I would enjoy though.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead –I am yet to read all of the Vampire Academy books and I really want to finish them first but I will get on to these afterwards. Promise.

The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes – this has been recommended to me numerous times, it’s no secret that I love a good romance novel but…books set during WWI don’t normally work for me so I am uncertain as to whether or not I will read it.

July

July has been a wonderful month for books. I have managed to read so much. My working pattern will have contributed to that as I have done one week on, one week off. I had a lot of holiday to use up before I finish here next Thursday (the countdown has begun!)

I have read a wide range of books this month from children’s books to cosy-crime, general fiction to epic fantasy and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I took part in the Booktubeathon, the aim of which was to read 7 books in 7 days. I finished book 7 on day 8 but in my eyes that’s still success.
