Top Ten Books That I Read in 2014.

I have read over 100 books so far this year so to narrow it down to just ten is going to be tricky. Really I’m going to pick the first 10 amazing books that come to mind (Sorry!)phoenix holt

The Witches of the Glass Castle, Evanescent, How I Found You and Phoenix Holt by Gabriella Lepore.

All four are incredible reads, gripping from the first page until the last.  –  TWOGC sequel Uprising is released TODAY!!!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

This book, what can I say? Just…WOW. Karou is my perfect female character I completely devoured this book.cropped-fangirl.jpg

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

A book about a fangirl + a cute guy = perfect for the fangirl community! Rainbow Rowell was a real shining star of 2014 and I’m gutted that this was the only book of hers that I got around to reading. More Rainbow for me in 2015.

Love, Rosie (Where Rainbows End) by Cecelia Ahern.

This was my favourite contemporary chick-lit book of the year by far.

toptentuesdayTop Ten Books I Would Like To Reread.

I know that some people hate rereading books but I love it, I have favourite books which I reread often. There’s something so lovely about rereading a book which you enjoyed first time around, you see things which you didn’t notice before and fall in love with the characters even more.

The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger This is my favourite book of all time and I haven’t reread it for a while so I am desperate to do so again sometime soon.

The Witches of Castle Glass by Gabriella Lepore With the second instalment coming out in December I really want to read this again and refresh the characters and story in my mind.

Ten Books For Readers Who Like Character Driven Novels.

I shall be honest now and say that I was a little unsure as to what ‘character driven’ actually meant. I did Google it and think that I understand but if any of the books that I recommend are not part of that particular category then please forgive me and know that they are at least wonderful books else I wouldn’t be recommending them!cropped-fangirl.jpg

  1. The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (my favourite novel of all time!)
  2. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck.
  3. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.
  4. Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
  5. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
  6. Looking for Alaska by John Green.
  7. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
  8. Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
  9. Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling.
  10. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger.

Bonus: Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult (any of Jodi Picoult’s books would work for this category and I definitely recommend them all).
