International Women’s Day

As it’s International Women’s Day I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable female authors who have had such an impact on my life. Reading their work has allowed me an escape from the  bullies at school, to lose myself in an imaginary world where I was able to grow and develop as a woman and realise that it’s okay to be who I am. That I can follow my heart, live my dreams and believe that magic is around every corner. Yes the world’s and characters that they create are fictional but to me that does not mean they are not real. They are the friends I didn’t have at school, the support network I needed to trust in myself and take that leap of faith. They taught me what it means to be a strong and independent woman but also what it means to show grace, be caring and put others before myself. To female authors all over the world, I salute you. I will continue to be inspired and motivated by your work for years to come. If I am blessed with daughters or sons I will teach them what you have taught me. Being a woman is incredible, being a good human being is a blessing to the world.
