Top Ten Tuesday #21

Top Ten Books That I Read in 2014.

I have read over 100 books so far this year so to narrow it down to just ten is going to be tricky. Really I’m going to pick the first 10 amazing books that come to mind (Sorry!)phoenix holt

The Witches of the Glass Castle, Evanescent, How I Found You and Phoenix Holt by Gabriella Lepore.

All four are incredible reads, gripping from the first page until the last.  –  TWOGC sequel Uprising is released TODAY!!!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

This book, what can I say? Just…WOW. Karou is my perfect female character I completely devoured this book.cropped-fangirl.jpg

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

A book about a fangirl + a cute guy = perfect for the fangirl community! Rainbow Rowell was a real shining star of 2014 and I’m gutted that this was the only book of hers that I got around to reading. More Rainbow for me in 2015.

Love, Rosie (Where Rainbows End) by Cecelia Ahern.

This was my favourite contemporary chick-lit book of the year by far.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

I know that I’m a bit late to the game with this series but I’m here now and loving every single word. Dimitri *heart melts*

Wonder by R.J Palacio.

This is a very special book and I recommend it to everyone. Who couldn’t do with more kindness and acceptance in their life? This book has many lessons to teach and many hearts to warm.

The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult.512iQH0f7gL

A heart wrenching read. It breaks your heart and restores your faith in humanity all at the same time a remarkable novel, one of Picoult’s best in my opinion.

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynne Barnes.

I think that this is a unique and original storyline; teenagers with natural talents for solving murders employed by the FBI like a young adult version of the BAU (I’m a Criminal Minds superfan).

The Fire Witness by Lars Kepler.

A gritty psychological Scandinavian crime thriller that I could really get my teeth into, the next book in the series is at the top of my Christmas list!

The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings.Me & Cohf

A fantastic debut in the YA world of books, I’m really looking forward to the next instalment due for release next year.

Bonus read: City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare.

An breath-taking, heart-racing, finger-nail-biting read. A great end to a fab series.

Have you read any of these? What did you think? What were your top ten books of 2014?
