Top Ten Tuesday #9

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday time again, this week it’s time to look at underrated authors in X genre. I couldn’t decide on a particular genre so I’ve just chosen ten authors. They really are wonderfully talented writers who do not get even half of the publicity, support and bookish love that they should.

Top Ten Underrated Authors.

(and my recommendation of where to start)

Gabriella Lepore –The Witches of the Glass Castle, Evanescent, How I Found You, Phoenix Holt – read them all.

Joseph Delaney – The Wardstone Chronicles, The Starblade Chronicles.

Charlaine Harris – Forget Sookie Stackhouse it’s all about The Lily Bard Mysteries and The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.

Jodi Taylor – The Chronicles of St.Mary’s.

Amanda Hocking – The Trylle Trilogy.

P.C Cast – House of Night is great but try the Goddess of Partholon series or the Goddess Summoning series.

Louise DouglasThe Love of My Life and Missing You are great places to start.

Duncan PileThe Nature Mage series.

Heather Gudenkauf – I started with The Weight of Silence and was hooked.

Abby ClementsAmelia Grey’s Fireside Dream.

I know that some of these authors are already popular, bestselling authors for certain books or series but they are so underrated in terms of their other work and I think that they should gain recognition for this work too. Read them!

  1. I think my favorite Harris series is the Harper Connolly books–though I also like Midnight Crossroads, and that might take a second favorite, depending on how interesting Manfred is on his own.
